  • Jamaican Elite women and injuries

I just notice that a number of the Jamiacan elite women have had some awfully bad injuries and have come back better than ever:

Foster Hylton had recontructive hamstring surgery (07)

Ennis London had two reconstructive knee surgeries (94, 01)

SAF had her appendix removed and a hammy injury (09)

    SS knee surgery (08)

They come back better than ever after injuries. Its mind boggling that these women can perserve through their trials and tribulations. I would have thought it was impossible to overcome some of these injuries (some in VERY short periods of time). All but one trains in the MVP camp, the exception being Ennis London.

Just wanted to tip my hat to these young ladies for performing at a high level through all the adversity.

Guys have bounced back from cancer and chemo to win the Tour de France or gals from Graves disease to be world beaters. I also recall MJ sustatining a broken leg and up ended being a slam dunk champion. Ronaldo had his knees bitterly ravished from numerous surguries and assisted Brazil in WC 2002 and 2006 (creditably so), Anna Quirot from Cuba and you kno the rest of the story.

There are a million more to note, I don't see the big deal.

You have been knocking at Dello all season since her bronze. I will respectfully ask you to do a considerable amount of reading into women's medical issues and quit bantering about things that could embarass you.

The Jamaicans certainly had their excuses ready if the US would have beaten them in the 4X100m relay.

Where did I knock Ennis London, I said at age 34 with 2 reconstructive knee surgeries her accomplishment is amazing. As far as Lance Armstrong recovering from chemo, thats as amazing accomplishment too!

I'm not making a big deal out of it, I'm congratulating them on their efforts. WHats the problem with that? Your a defensive type guy.

Now that you have put that on the board, other than my exploits in the long, triple and high jumps, I am much more revered for being a nagging right back with an expert swiftness in making tackles made interform teams but never any Dacosta or Manning cup teams. I still think if I had played more football from age 10/11 I would have been a better footballer.

How is this possible, i.e. to play both?

Start off by going to a school in the country with no 6th form play dacosta cup in 5th form then go to 6th form at a school in the city and play 2 years of manning cup

Ok Usafa you are likely a bona fide countryman or a rigid urbanite who has never ventured out of the social confines of your geography.

Good research, You have taken a vested interest in Jam track and field. Is there anything else that you can dig up of interest? :?

The funny thing is, you guys knew the entire year the US women would not be able to beat the Jamaican women and yet you guys haven't managed to come up with one suitable excuse. What's up with that?

Based on the WC discussion on the subject, I think most Americans thought they would.

I believe Deloreens recontructive surgeries were both done on the same knee.

In fact, I met her back in 2001?at ACU. I believe she was on the training table in the process of rehabbing for the second time.

Her ability to recover from that and medal at a WC at age 34 truly is nothing short of amazing.

It was the same knee TD. No need to think

Back to Paul and his false statements about me attacking Ennis-London. If you check the record, I came to her defense on this very messageboard about the drugs that were shipped to her home in Texas, I explained that package was NOT hers. It was an obvious error as it was a males name on the package. You know the US Postal system has its flaws.
