    finally some confirmation that apparently sundarajan had AIS. however, i don't understand why would she be stripped of her medal and not allowed to compete as a woman. aren't AIS cases considered to be female? powell? pego?

    Not in all cases. The phenotype of the syndrome is on a spectrum from female to male. Each case is different depending on the specific mutation, interactions with other genetic factors as well as environmental factors. It is impossible to generalise with these cases.

      i'm trying to figure out here, what would allow her to be re-instated? are we talking about surgery? medical treatments? the article mentions that athletics officials in india (local, perhaps) wanted her to go back to competition.
