WAT Scoring Update - Source: IAAF
1. Jemma Simpson, GBR (5 meets) 64 points
2. Maggie Vessey, USA (5) 62
3. Elisa Cusma Piccione, ITA (5) 56
4. Mayte Martínez, ESP (5) 52
4. Mariya Savinova, RUS (5) 52
6. Jennifer Meadows, GBR (5) 51
7. Anna Willard, USA (3) 50
8. Marilyn Okoro, GBR (5) 49
JF comment: WAT Standings are based on the best 5 scores from placing in designated meets. A sixth score is not added to previous five scores, but it can replace a lower score from a previous meet.
Bottom line: Willard has qualified for 800m World Athletics Final via only three races and now must consider, having already qualified for 1500m, whether or not to double next weekend at Thessaloniki.

26mi325 asked, "Did she [Maggie Vessey] trip badly on the backstraight?
mid distance fan replied, "Vessey was spiked about +500m into race. You can see in video where she jumps to inside and drops back."
________
I'd like to view the incident, but NBC-TV did not show any of the Brussels w800m. Can anyone point to a website with archived video of the race?
Of note, Ms. Vessey seems to have recovered from Brussels spiking because she subsequently won the DecaNation 800m this week at Paris -- her fourth victory in pre-WAF races.
