  • Hmmmm Matthew Centrowitz apparently ran a very fast 1500!

I realize my tired, old, broken eyes are failing and may be "seeing things" but just in case it's all ok isn't this a little bit off?

'Lifted from the U of O XC roster pages today.

    Matthew Centrowitz

    Personal Bests
    1,500 Meters - 3:26.92,
    Cardinal Invitational,
    Stanford, Calif., 5/2/09

Just wondering if I missed something monumental, which I doubt but it certainly wouldn't be the first time!

There are, of course, two Matt Centrowitz, the older of which won 4 consecutive US Championship 5000m races, but no, the younger has a PB of 3.36.92. The page listed magically removed 10 seconds from his PB.

I could use two of those 'magic' pages.

But yes I remember Matts dad. Quite the competitor. Jr has a good head start on his running career.

        That's ok.

According to the AP, Caster Semenya broke the world record in the World Championships final.
