Can anyone shed any light on John Capel's being replaced by Mickey Grimes for the World Indoors? If we can weed out the truth from the rumours it would be helpful.

As promised, here's what Flynn wrote to me in an e-mail:

"Coach Holloway is being extra careful with John with his build up for the Olympic Trials. He got injured indoors last season and missed several weeks of training and Coach is just being cautious this year."

Is there a specfic injury here being referred to that he picked up in Boston? He seemed fine after the race. I'm amazed there has been no mention of this in the media, he ran 6.52 last weekend and then just disappears off the team.

The injury Flynn referred to happened last year.

John is just getting ready for the outdoor season just like several of the top American sprinters.
