Asssociated Press reports WR 800 for Semenya !

Yup, it's in the 9/12/09 morning paper:

"Semenya won the 800-meter race at the world championships in Berlin on Aug.19 by 2.45 seconds in a world-record 1 minute, 55.45 seconds. "

Only off by about 2 seconds on that WR....

Either the writer decided not to do the research or............the editor didn't check for errors......

Those of us that follow track will pick up the mistake right away, but I can see someone jumping on this report and sensationalizing the story just a bit more (man runs as woman and breaks WR?)
