The Diamond League has no stops in Africa.
(Doha and Monaco are as close as they get.)
The World XC Championships are now bi-annual.
(Or "Biennial" as they spell it on the U.K. sites)
And these changes are to increase the world wide appeal of Athletics?
After reading the article I'm inclined to agree with the reps from Africa that these changes are kind of like a penalty for the dominance of East Africa in distance running.
Which is interesting given that the rest of the world seems to slowly be catching up at the moment.
I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that but at first glance those are my thoughts.
This could be construed as a retaliation or a 10th Avenue Freeze Out.
