Apparently they didn't even take a vote on firing him. According to the stories I've seen (including one on the front page here--scroll down), they took a vote of confidence. Everyone voted for.

Everyone voted "for" because everyone seems to have been "in".

I suspect this isn't over. There seem to be important forces in South Africa who still want him out.

Until the congressionally created "Control Board" check'd Barry's authority thereby nullifying his abilities as mayor.

If the ANC and cronies sacked everyone who made a really stupid mistake there would be no ANC left..

These antics by the ANC definately signals the fact that its time start having stringent punitive measures for administrators equivalent to those applied to athletes who violate the rules.

This Chuene fellow and Semenyah's coach should in future, not even be allowed near a kindergarten's sportsday!!

Chuene and Board members suspended by SA equivalent of the USOC. Story on front page.

Sensible move to suspend. Now if (when?) Semenya is suspended and the handling of ASA is criticised, the ANC can say they have removed those in charge.

Cheune and company can then be appointed head of the SA Tourism board or something.

Apparently they are suing to stop the process.
