When I found out that it was going to be televised a week later in the USA. I couldn't wait until then. I'm a big fan of Gail and I wanted to know when it happened. Something might happen next week and you still don't get a chance to see it....

I'm a couple of days late to post this but Gail is probably the greatest sprint/hurdle athlete male or female........unfortunately she lost the hurdles but the time was great and she showed true style and grace in accepting her silver medal. Only a true champion can continue to go out there and give em hell everytime they step on the track. Whay to go and we love you girl you make we as Americans very proud

I have finally come to understand that the hurdles race at world class really IS more about rhythm and stride length than speed and technique. Gail has A+ speed, A- technique (she still tends to float a bit), but when she gets up to her Mach-7 sprint speed, she can't efficiently hurdle anymore. Felicien has less speed, perhaps only a smidgen better technique, but her rhythm and stride length allow her to go all out. When Gail goes all out, problems develop both in steps and technique.

Felicien "perhaps only a smidgen better technique" ? Felicien's technique is vastly better than Devers. She doesn't lock her lead leg, she stays square over the hurdle, and her arm motion is far more efficient. In short, she hurdles like a European.
