  • Collegiate 60m Hurdles

Has anyone seen Antwon Hicks (Jr. Mississippi) run this year. He has the best collegiate time this season (7.66) but only placed 3rd in the SEC meet with a 7.84.

Is this youngster (born 1983) the real deal. I have yet to see him run.

Also how does a 7.7 60H convert to the 110H?

Thanks in advance for helping this poor distance guy follow some new events.

Yep, Antwon is the real deal. He was the 2002 World Junior champ in the 110H and is a 13.4-13.5 performer.

Last year he ran .1 slower indoors and ran 13.49 outdoors, so that seems to indicate he could run in the low to mid 13.30's this year.

Isn't his coach Joe Walker at Mississippi and didn't Coach Walker coach Tony Dees back in the early-mid 1980's.

Am I making that connection correctly?

Guess he answered my questions about him this weekend.

WOW, 3rd in the SEC meet but 1st at NCAA's. Nice rebound.
