Died at 66 in Baltimore today .A graduate of Dunbar H.S. and Morgan St. where he was a sprinter and ran on world ranked relay teams.Satch, as he was known, then settled in L.A. became an actor and played Grady on Sanford and Son.Back in Baltimore he continued acting and worked as an athletic equipment man at Morgan St. and assistant/ volunteer track coach. He is survived by his wife Weesie and children including Jessie Owens Satchman.

Satch isn't any closer to the sky than you or I. If you doubt that, check the Baltimore Sun website. Click on obituaries. Type in Satchman. Nothing there there.
What's sad is whatever it is that would impel Satch (or anyone else) to post a thing like that.

Agreed with abinferno. Look Satch: you have some very insightful things to say about track and field. For that reason, I (like many others) absolutely want you to return to the board.
However, it is quite clear that you crave attention and it is a little much sometimes.

Satch, my man, your wit,smarts and charm are like a breath of fresh air compared to those aging jocksniffers. The trivia questions are brilliant,comments cogent and well composed,and track knowledge truly awesome! Do not let others less talented hurt you.Finally the Batman interview and recent obituary were classics.Keep up your campaign against banality and fat ass disease.
