Which non-USA country has the greatest chance of taking home the most NCAA medals?

    My vote? Sweden

    Rajne Svenssohn (pentathlon)

    Re: NCAA international contest

Are you basing it purely on number of qualifiers or are all these athletes favoured to pick up medals in their events? (I'm not that familiar with the field events so really don't know.)

Are you referring to the NCAA indoors (where they have the mile but no discus) or NCAA outdoors (where they have the discus, but no mile)?

      Shot indoors... my mistake

These athletes are my strongest picks for medals... I think Sweden has a good chance of taking home a top number of NCAA medals.

Even though it is late, I have yet to see results. However, none of the Swedes mentioned are favored. Arrhenius would be the best bet. Without seeing who is in the meet, lets go with Jamaica. Im sure they have more than this but Maurice Smith (hept) and Leevan Sands (LJ). Both are from Auburn.

Hmm Pelle. I wouldn't hold Sweden as a favourite, by the way, after the first day; Ahhrenius was the best one with 5th place in the SP (19,36)Magnus Åhlen became 12th with poor 7.43.

                Växjo...

I was surprised with some of the heats... Haglund bombed in the mile. L Nilsson grabbed a medal in the DM with the fastest anchor leg.

                  Re: NCAA international contest

                  Interesting stat:

Sweden has 37 total NCAA champions; 13 indoors and 24 outdoors.

Our Nilsson trio brought home a silver and two bronzes this time around, but there is still outdoors!

Kenya should do pretty good in the distances.
