Make sure you find out about the surface type they intend to use. Some companies use real low end material and it will not last - the Tennis Court and Track Builders is a good source - might also want to contact someone who does design and layout etc. - Don Paige former middle distance WR holder - Paige Design Group - www.paigedesigngroup.com

#1 concern! Make sure the contract administrator for the school district can and is qualified to administer the contract! We had a guy that accepted an 8 lane straight and 7 lane turn on the new configuration of the track so in the end we can't hold a district meet or any "meet for profit" event.

    Just my thoughts,

This is the best place to start when looking for someone to hire to build the track. The US Tennis Court & Track Builders Association - http://www.ustctba.com/

Nike has a program where they assist in building new facilities through recycling old sneakers. I believe they call it the "retread" program. http://www.nikebiz.com should help you with that.

    Building a high school track.

We have $250,000 to build a high school track from scratch. Would anyone care to help me out with suggestions, tips, companies, surfaces, etc. that would help with the process? Also does anyone know of any grants we can apply for that we might get more money to help with the cost and make the facility even better? Any help would be appreciated.
