  • Alistair the Avenger

    Origin: Greek

Meaning: Variant of Alexander: Defender of men; ruler. Also means avenger.

Any guesses on why he is running so well this indoors after losing two straight NCAA cross titles to CU runners (though he was out a majority of the 03 season)! I would certainly say that he has put to rest and avenged those losses, and certainly defends the pride of Arkansas every time he steps on the starting line.
