OK, lets say that by some stroke of luck we get a 24 hour Track & Field channel. Who would be your choice as the prime time anchor/host?

Re: 24 Hr T& F Channel
In all honesty, i'd like to see Dwight Stones get a lot of coverage. I always hear people say how much they hate him, but in my opinion, there are few out there who are doing better. He adds a lot of excitement, mostly to the field events. If you don't believe me, go watch the Lewis vs. Powell '91 duel, or the '96 Atlanta TJ final.....or the '96 Atlanta LJ final for that matter......

Never afraid to be a sexist pig, I'd rather have a hot babe instead of Stones or Rawson. I vote for Carrie Tollefson! :-)"Run fast and keep turning left."

Re: 24 Hr T& F Channel
go back 15 eyars and think about the internet...
now go into the future 15 years and project the possibilities of a T&F channel..
over a variety of media...
if NOT TV, then a LIVE INTERNET feed...
One day, you'll be able to watch any MEET anywhere with your PC...
The on the shelf technology already exists...
actualizing it, is a bit of a different matter.

The problem isn't the technology; it's the economics. If nobody watches the channel, nobody is going to able to pay the producers, cameramen, announcers, etc. who will do the shows. Without programming content, the channel won't exist on tv, on the Internet, or in any other medium.
By the way, even if everyone on this Board watches the Channel, the numbers will still be much too small to make this economically viable. Would that it were otherwise.

Re: 24 Hr T& F Channel
I agree with the cost issue...
my point is the technology exists, and if you go pay-per-view on the INTERNET, if you take the global population interested in T&F, then perhaps costs are covered...
let's say eurosport decides to create a WEb based subsriber service for their TV programming...
you could watch Zurich LIVE, perhaps for 19.99, or whatever fee??
