          Re: Jamaica High School Champs!!

The very first throw in qualifying for the Boy's discus Class 1 produced a new record. I tuned in just in time to hear the commentators speaking about it, however they had no official measurement at that time. If I hear any more detail (athlete/school/distance) I will post it.

800m qualifying races are on track now, for girls and boys, seems to be all classes.

Long jump is also under way. Boys Class 1 jumping now.

Coverage is also available at http://www.webcastia.com/webapp/default ... ientid=10/

if you're in canada, come to the penn relays, and you'll see most of them there, LIVE, peaked and ready to perform to get those schollies to the american schools...

Chad Wright of Calabar is the athlete who broke the Class 1 discus record on the first throw of qualifying. Distance was 52.16m, the old record was 51.43 set by his team mate Travis Smikle in '09.

The Boys' should be between Calabar and KC, shouldn't it? Does JC stand a chance?

And who are the schools likely to challenge Vere in the Girls? St Jago?
My heart is still in the Caribbean....

Pundits are giving Wolmers a very good outside chance for the boy's title.

On the girls side, never count out Holmwood.
