What do you think of the our women's chances in the 4x4 in Athens? Personally, I thnk they will be the Gold medal team, especially if Marion Jones is involved. We have so many athletes to choose from. There's Demitria Washington, either of the Barber twins, Sanya Richards, the freshman form Florida or Florida State that finished second to Sanya in the NCAA 400 indoors, and Alyson Felix can run it too. If not the favorite going in I think they will surprise a lot of people and come out with the Gold.

Right now the Russian women have a very strong claim on the 4X4 gold. They have an excellent depth of women in the mid 50. range and the new world champ Nazarova is running 49's indoors and will be a forboding anchor. Of course the Russian's have looked good before and fallen off dramatically on the day (as happened in Paris this summer). As far as the American chances go; A lot is still to be seen. Richards looked good indoors and Miles Clark is a consistant and experianced relay runner. We'll have to see how well Michelle Collins comes back from injury, What event Collender-Richardson picks and of course, if Marian busts a big 400 at Mt Sac in a few weeks, things could look at bit more interesting.

I don't like what I have seen from the Jamaican team so far this year. They are going to be hard pressed to get a medal. The men on the other hand ...why don't people pronounce vowels anymoreComment
