  • Lemaître 10.03 (0.6ms), Tamgho 17.63m (1.7ms)

    In Franconville today.
    Lemaître won by 0.40.

    Tamgho's full series was:
    17m19(+1.3) / 17m24(+1.4) / 17m53(+2.5) / 17m63(+1.7) / 17m42(+3.9) / X

It's actually a European U23 record and a French outdoor record, but of course Tamgho's indoor mark is the absolute NR.

Anyone know when Lemaitre is supposed to run his first real gala-race for the year?

Give him some opposition and he'll be sub 10 before you can say hype!

Unfortunately yes, but is probably best to get it out of way as soon in his career as possible if you know what I mean.

Last year he had ran 10.26 (1.9), 10.30 (2.2), 10.36 (-1.1), and 10.31 (-0.4) to this point in the season. This year he has this result and the 10.09w that there was a thread about earlier. A major milestone is imminent.

Ryan Bailey is not looking quite as threatening at the moment but he has been mixing it up with the big guns, so that is probably a plus in his favor. Gulyiev is MIA as far as I know.

Only because we'll have one more guy sub-10.

This year already Lemaitre has 10.09 (1.0w), 10.24 (-2.2w), and 10.03 (0.6w) all at club meets in France with basically no competition.
He will be sub-10 very soon for sure.
