Rosolova wins in 50.85! I didn't expect that....

Rosolova is actually probably better known as Denisa Scerbova.

She's set great 100/200 PB's this season, but this is something else! A new contender for European medal in Barcelona!

Ohuruogu went out too hard and has a leg strapped - injured?

Shericka Williams second, Rosemarie Whyte third, Ohuruogu fourth.

Yup, and a heptathlete. Heptathletes don't do the 400. She ran 52.75 indoors this year.

which makes it even stranger that she should win as she's a LJ and Hep :?

Looks like she has finally found her event! Her promising LJ career as a junior didn't seem to materialise to much as a senior, then she spent a few years trying to be a heptathlete, but again didn't have the breakthrough her talent suggested. This is quite a staggering turn-around in fortunes, and makes the European title race pretty exciting. That's quite a quality field she trounced.

Just got in, so I missed this but interesting to hear that Christine "went out too hard". Wonder if they're playing with tactics this early in the season...

Congratulations to Rosolova! This is EXACTLY what I have argued for the last few months: Euro coaches (and some American...) pushing athletes towards the multi-events instead of individual sprint/hurdle events. And, to make sure that I thoroughly piss off the brits...that would include Ennis (Sotherton, too!).
