I am new on here. Are there any famous athletes (past or present) who contribute on here?

I suppose that depends on your definition of "famous." I've certainly never seen Michael Johnson post on here, but I can think of at least one former nationally ranked athlete who has done some posting. I wasn't aware of who she was when she first posted, but then I did a Google search of her name and found out she was nationally ranked back in the 1970s.

Of course, so many people on here don't use their real names, only their "handles," so for all we know, Michael COULD be posting here.

Unfortunately, very few "real" athletes, past or present, post on any site because in general sites are very hostile and you don't need to go far before you find somebody trashing you and why would you want to have to take that kind of shit?

Tonie Campbell posted a couple great messages on the historical side of the board. And I recall Adam Nelson posting in the past.

British high-jumper Mark Naylor is a regular. He was great.

It depends on how you define famous. I have been on television (not as an athlete, per se) and some people feel that fact validates ones existance. However, I do not.

Setting aside for a moment the fact that there are those who think Malmo should be categorized as a what rather than a who, he was the world's No. 6 ranked steeplechaser in 1977. But to his credit doesn't make a big deal about that or his status as former american recordholder in the event.

                              Go here for a name:

You can tell you are new to the US message boards Jon. A lot of people ask that question when they start on one of these boards and it has been asked here at least once already.
