Great, smart race for De Reuck. Surprised that Kastor had no response when De Reuck passed her. Makes no difference in terms of the team, but I believe about $18,000 was at stake . . .

Jen Rhines ran a smart race too. I have to think that Blake Russell thought she would make the team with a 2:30:30. A gutsy race on her part.

As for coverage: Running Times had the quickest and most complete coverage most of the race, but then inexplicably went silent for 12 minutes after reporting mile 25. Runners World was the first to report the top three, and the first to report that De Reuck was threatening Kastor.

They have Kastor running the 23rd mi in about 16 mins.

Let's hope she picks it up.

Glad to have all three and to get a different view of the race. But USATF lags behind in speed and accuracy. Example: after Russell passed halfway in 2:23:56 pace and then slowed down to 5:40-5:50 mile pace, at 17 miles USATF still reports she is on 2:23 pace. But actually her pace at 17 is 2:25.

Blake Russell made a big move - at 800m! - and still has a substantial lead at halfway (1:11:58). Kastor will catch her - but will anyone else?
