david oliver deserved it this month.

one person who should have already been on the cover this year is david rudisha, maybe the staff at trackandfieldnews thinks as i do that rudisha can get the 800 world record this year and is just waiting for that to happen to put him on the cover.

Here's David Oliver's response on Facebook to making the cover...

"I'm buying 1000 copies, I'm going to wall paper my house with this!!! LMAO...man I'm crunk!"

He appreciates it, and he certainly deserves it.

Same reaction I had just getting the issue now. Great pic! I wish his trail elbow wasn't so high, or I'd make a poster for my track office (the Davenport/Milburn/Sheets/AJ model keeps it lower, which is what I teach). I may anyway, he and the pic are so good!

The photo on pg 22, however, of BJ over a 400 hurdle, is poster perfect - everything I try to teach: lean, relaxed arm carriage, hips a little higher than the foot - very cool!

I just wish his deltoids were bigger, they aren't quite as big as his head. The guy is a monster. Has there ever been a stronger, world class hurdler, ever? He looks like one of those plastic super heroes my son use to play with.

When they were interviewing him on TV (or was it a webcast?), he was standing there with his hands on his hips and he delts looked so ridiculous (and I mean that in the most envious way possible), I was instantly reminded of the Hollywood starlets with the huge fake boobs that are so obviously not real. His delts are PRETERNATURAL!!

Do you really wanna mess with this guy?

Not me...and I really wouldn't want to mess with his mother. She generated more energy in the stands than he did on the track.

                      Re: TFN Cover

Unfortunately, whenever I click on the icon on the front page, instead of enlarging the cover of Oliver, I am directed to an enlargement of the inside cover of Lolo Jones. I guess I'll have to wait until I get my copy in the mail to get a better look of this photo which was taken by Errol Anderson, one of my favorite photographers.
