I notice that Kendell Williams the young hurdler tried the heptathlon in the AAU JO's, breaking 4900. I calculated that if she improves modestly in all of the events while in high school, she will break 6000 by the time she is a senior. She threw the javelin 65 feet in this meet, having probably seen the implement for the first time this week.
She LJ'd 19 feet legal, so per age she jumped better than any American heptathlete is currently jumping except for Hyleas Fountain. She is an excellent intermediate hurdler, so the 800m will probably be a weapon.
The main obstacle would probably be that she is too good in individual events to stick with the heptathlon, but in interviews she seems like the type of athlete who would like the challenge. If she wants to do the heptathlon I doubt if the throws will be any more of an obstacle for her than they have been for Jessica Ennis.
