I believe it's his HS coach posting on letsrun that he was told that Rupp fell but is fine.
That is disappointing...from the race video, it looked like he was in great shape to run a sub 13:00.

But great race by Solinsky! Now if only he had some burners on the last 100...

Post race interview w/ Chris Solinsky by T&FN correspondent Jonas Hedman:

I've just got to finish it and I didn't quite finish it. So it's coming, but this year and next year and even the start of 2012 are all about gaining experience...

This excerpt is a bit misleading - Chris is not at all content with gaining experience, but he notes that benefit of these races. He's hungry to compete and win. Read the interview.

The Flotrack interview is in somewhat greater depth. As always, Chris reflects thoughtfully on the race and his future plans.

Does this make Solinsky fastest non-African born (in 2nd event)? or was Mottram faster?

Solinsky's faster than Mottram but not as fast as Dieter Baumann....12:54.70

Hold the phone people. Did Solinsky NOT run in knee socks for this last race?

I saw a picture of him - sans extended hosiery- on the front page and it appeared to be from Stolkhom.

If it weren't for the recent ban on all-caps subject lines...

Edit: Now I just saw this. Sorry if I'm late to the party. But, uh, maybe he oughta bring back the knee-socks. In Kevlar!

i hope this isn't considered thread-hijacking--but a simple question strikes me as unworthy of a new thread:

Were we not supposed to see Ritz on the track this season?

I think his focus is on NYC Marathon.
