Apologies to those who feel this must be a pure track board but the US snapped a 37 game win streak that dated back to 1990 by defeating the Canucks in world championship women's ice hockey on their own home turf. They could still meet in the final Tuesday which would be quite the game.

MJD, how much coverage is Halifax getting in your local press? In my neck of woods you wouldn't know there is the WC going on. I don't expect much more coverage for the man's tournament in 3 weeks either."A beautiful theory killed by an ugly fact."

Lots in the paper but it can't be on tv because I was talking to a guy this morning whose daughter plays a high level of hockey(he has gone to close to all of the 80 games she has played this year) and he says that he can't find it anywhere. There were close to 9000 fans at the game yesterday though.Comment
