Everyone slower in the final than in the heats, although +0.3 and +1.1 vs -0.3 might account for part of it. Was it colder at the Final (18C/64F), that is not great 100m weather?

From what I could tell it did get a tad colder and was drizzling. Some of the field event cams had water on their lenses.

Good to see Myers win. She had mentioned on a video blog that she had considered ending her season early, but was told to give it another shot and she ended up winning in Luzern and now wins in London.

I would have liked to see a video of this race. I am aware that Hooker has come back from injury this year looking relatively fit from her injuries. That being said though.... Jeter has been looking good all season :? Her losing once today i could pass off as a badly executed race... but twice, once from a relative newbie and the other time by someone coming back from injury.

I am figuring were the conditions more favorable we could probably have knocked -.10 from everyone's time?

Let me know if you find that video online. I watched it live on the net and Myers beat Baptiste from the start and the heats and Jeter from the start in the finals. She didn't have the best start in the field by any means but she started WITH the field and then quickly separated. If she's able to do that consistently she'll be a problem for many...her top end is right up there with Jeter, Kerron and VCB.

Jeter never closed on her at any point and seemed to labor quite a bit in both rounds. Maybe jet lag was somewhat of a factor? Personally I think on certain stages Jeter gets too wired up and chases times rather than wins. I think she saw what Tyson and Blake were able to do yesterday and expected similar from herself. Oddly enough you can often tell (or at least guess relatively well) how Jeter will perform based on her temperament right before she gets in the blocks. Today she looked like she was pumping herself up to squat 500 pounds or something right before the race.

All the same, I think Myers is benefited somewhat from the time off in that her calf injury wasn't so serious that it would prevent her from coming back at a high level this year (i.e. Kerron's hamstring). I've always felt if she can stay healthy and continue to become more consistent with her start she's one of the most dangerous sprinters out there. Hopefully she can continue on the tear that she's on through the end of the season and carry it over to next season. I wouldn't at all be shocked if she finds her way to the podium somehow next summer if she get rid of her pop-straight-up demons.

I have been so spoil with seeing Jetter with her 10.90s and 10.80s so anything less is like what was that forgetting she is only human.Well the battle is set for her and VCB coming up can't wait to see this one.VBC should be fresh and iI will be upset if VCB doesn't get a 10.80s because she have't been running that much all season.
Welcome back mrs Myers I see she will be trouble for the other girls. It's good to have real talent back on track this is what the women track sprints need.
