There are some top guys at UCLA this Saturday, anyone going? I'll be there and also at Mt. Sac the following Sunday. Marion announced she's LJ-ing there plus Tim is running.

    Re: UCLA Meet this Saturday

"LOS ANGELES (AP) Olympic shot put bronze medalist John Godina and hurdler Felix Sanchez are among the elite athletes competing in the Rafer Johnson-Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational at UCLA on Saturday. Sanchez won the Pan Am Games 400-meter hurdles title last year. He is undefeated in 28 finals, dating to 2001."

So now the World Championships rank below the Pan Ams in resume prestige?

      Re: UCLA Meet this Saturday

Just got back from the meet. Conditions were quite chilly, especially for LA. Highlights were:

Felix Sanchez: 800m 1min 49.36secs PB, looked very strong

Mo Greene: Ran last leg of 4x100, looked ok but hard to judge as he was so far ahead (his legs look even huger than normal)

Ato Bolden: ditto Mo (on 3rd leg)

John Godina: 67' 11.75" I have no idea how far that is but he was obviously having technical challenges

Inger Miller: 100m 11.34 with +1.8 wind, looked very average

Larry Wade: 13.44 said he'd had a heavy week so was satisfied

Chelsea Johnson: two excellent attempts at 4.60m, she'll make it and higher soon

Joey Woody: 400m 47 something looked flat in both individual plus 4x400

Tyree Washington: looked in excellent shape in 4x400

Torri Edwards: 200m 22.73, basically a timetrial, outside lane with only two others in race.

      Mt. Sac next week.
