much as i can't stand him, it was a lot more appetising than the prospect of that big,dopey,gorilla, ernie, completing 3/4 of a career grand-slam

Aren't there some Arizona State types out there? How did he ever get in? I realize that it is early in a busy year but the sinking of that 15 footer on 18 was one of the most excting things that has happened in sports so far this year IMHO and, based on their reactions, in the opinions of the 5 people I was watching it with:

every now and then we get "good" sports story... and yesterday was one of the best in a long time. Phil's a credit to the world of sport, and so is Ernie.
