Re: A Half-Minute Improvement In 2M?
We had a kid do something similar here in Texas, a runner from Elgin coached by a friend of mine. I think his previous 3200 PR was a 9:35 a few weeks ago with no competition, and then he got into that hot Texas Relays race (the best since I was in HS) and popped off a 9:07.
And Garry, I assume you were simply being understated when you said that 8:49 is a "decent" time?

Re: A Half-Minute Improvement In 2M?
au contraire... I was aware of the Nashville Runner interview in which he talks about a "time trial I ran alone" in 9:13... My original statement still stands.

A Half-Minute Improvement In 2M?
Did you catch that Andrew Bumbalough won the Arcadia 2M in 8:49.87? Not only is that a decent time, but our prep mavens say they can't find that he ever ran faster than about 9:20 before. Yikes! Dyestat has a good picture of the guy near the top.Tags: None
