I think it helps step-up the level of competition. As reported, Reese uncorked a monster jump in the 6th round even though it was a foul. Without Myers or Lowe or someone who would go out there and get it, Reese may not have had reason to push herself. I've never seen a situation where a reigning work champ is on a final jump trying to win the competition and people are filing out of the arena. I'm sure that's fuel to the internal fire.

Ultimately, I think it will bring the best out in Reese this summer and next. I see even more special coming from her and I hope Myers sticks with it because her overall athleticism could get her on the podium as well.

Sadly (for Hog fans) there are fewer Arkansas athletes to hang around to watch these days.

The only people I saw cheering Reese on was the Ole Miss team and I believe she still trains with them.

Everyone else was leaving.
