Re: Boston Marathon
Any message board regulars running this year.
I was planning to but a severe sinus infection severly limited my training the past few months. It wasn't until the third different antibotic that they got it under control. Guess I no longer have the sinuses for competing at a high level. ;-)

What I actually get is about a six hour feed from one of the local stations that are on Expressvu up here. It incorporates the ESPN2 coverage I think.

Re: Boston Marathon
While it is "only" 63 degrees there currently (10:15 am) it is expected to reach up into the mid 80's this afternoon with partly to mostly cloudy sky's and a stiff wind (20-30 mph) at their back.
It will be very interesting to see what the top guys can run in this type of weather.
The heat will be a very substaintial obstacle but the wind will be helpful.

Re: Boston Marathon
This is exacltly the kind of day one heat trains for. Something as simple as still wearing extra clothes when it finally hits 60 degress in February or March instead of just shorts and a
t shirt readies one for that hot day.

"For example, passive exposure to heat induces some responses, notably an improved ability to dissipate heat."

First result for 'heat acclimatization' in google.

Re: Google is your friend
With the US trials having been held so recently this is going to be an even uglier than usual Boston for the Open American Men and Women.
The women leaders have gone out at a rather slow 18:01 for the first 5k (due to heat concerns I'm sure) and the leading American is already 26 secs back.
