Can you tell us what it looked like? Maybe mail us a description on a postcard? It would be better/quicker than Universal.

Perhaps the BBC and a few other fans outside of the States did not know owt about Taylor; they do now. The young guy has been competing in a long College season but looked great today; perhaps we can now stop hearing about PI's Gold Medal.

It will be tough out there even without TT.

Copello will have a say in it also, methinks.

It would appear that Taylor has gone pro - he was wearing a full Li Ning kit and is now "part of the Li Ning stable."

Perhaps he wants to continue being coached by Dick Booth, who has departed Florida for Alabama?

Idowu says he is a pro and talks the talk; shame that he states in public "I dont care " about his performance or lack of the same ; lots of people paid good money to see him and nobody would have lost sleep if he had not competed and announced the same at the appropriate time; the previous meet the National Trials he said he wasnt there cos he would win and would perform instead at the CP.Some performance.!

Tosin Oke must be laughing to beat the great Idowu.

Should n't treat the public with such contempt. I will not buy the usual crap about he knows what's best for him with 3 weeks to go; plenty of world class athletes turned up and performed. PI is just reverting to what he has been in the past. Self regarding thoughtlessness and fatheaded arrogance.Hope his sponsors were forgiving

I will laugh heartily if Taylor whups him in Daegu.

This is my problem (well, one of many) in picking the WC medalists. One or two Cubans will be in the mix, but which one(s)? They have all been so inconsistent.

Copello inconsistent? He's appeared in the Diamond League five times this year and his worst result is 3rd with 17.05...

Isn't Copello the one who wears the Flashdance off-the-shoulder top?

Probably not, but that's because I haven't seen enough upside, not because of consistency problems. I'm expecting 17.3x from him... good enough for 3rd to 5th.

This was probably not even his best meet this summer. Here is his NCAA meet and, while wind-aided, 17.80/2.3 is not THAT windy, and with wind-legal 17.40, 17.28, 17.16, and 16.90, it was hardly a big outlier.

                              1 Christian Taylor JR Florida 17.80m 58-4 ¾ +2.3 10
                              17.28m w: +2.0 (1) 56-8 ½
                              16.76m w: +2.1 (1) 55-0
                              16.90m w: +0.6 (2) 55-5 ½
                              17.40m w: +2.0 (2) 57-1
                              17.16m w: +1.7(2) 56-3 ¾
                              17.80m w: +2.3(1) 58-4 ¾

Another implication is that he certainly performed best on the big stage - the stage is bigger but he might just be ready for even that increment in venue.
