Yes, this is known as a work-study program if you're fast-tracking to be a lawyer.

(would have to wonder if terms of his bail—anybody's—wouldn't include a don't-leave-town clause, to say nothing of don't-leave-the-country)

Well isn't this kid quite the mystery?!

Where did he come from (rhetorical Q)
How'd he make the team (RQ)
Why did he do this - right before the biggest adventure of his life?

if he isn't allowed to go, is it too late to add a sub? Maurice Mitchell is next in the placings.

The alternate should be ready to replace the athlete here; remember the hurdles last time (36 hours before the first heat or something; there is 'gobs' more time here).

Since it's multiple counts of identity theft, he probably had been doing it over a period of time.

and doesn't it typically take a long time before ID thieves are tracked down?

That's what I was thinking, chances are this all happened before the trials.

payne in 2007 110h was literally off the flight and running

so much for needing to adapt

Well wouldn't this be a different situation for Mitchell, as he is probably preparing to go back to school and pre-season training while Payne was in the middle of the European circuit in 2007.

Actually, "getting off the flight and running" is probably easier than being there for a few days (maybe even up to a week, depending on how jet lag affects you). Your mind/body won't as yet have gotten confused by differing periods of light/dark, changed meal times, etc., etc.

And best of all, no time to sit in your room for days and stew over "when the heck do I get to compete?"

Time to stop crucifying the kid and apologize for any nasty comments -- it was in error as HIS identify was stolen. See front page; part of it is here:

"Regarding Jeremy Dodson's arrest, the Boulder DA and the Boulder Police Dept. arrested the wrong person. Jeremy's I.D. was lost and apparently, an unidentified person has used it. The conduct of that person caused the DA to (swear out) issue an arrest warrant."

                              Re: Dodson arrested [incorrectly?]

Dodson's lawyer (see front page) says Dodson himself was victim of an ID theft and he wasn't the one doing the other criminality.
