  • ¶Brussels m10K (non-DL)—Bekele 26:43.16 WL, Rupp AR 26:48.00

Unverified reports of 2:41 5:23 8:02 for the first 3k, with a confident Bekele right behind the rabbits and Rupp in mid-pack (based on letsrun messageboard reports, but seems consistent).

The Lets Run message boards are gonna go into meltdown for Rupp.

The master Bekele is seemingly back.

Great gutsy race by Rupp, and he was dying in the last lap (60?) but 3d place in a slew of Africans.

YES!!! This is so cool! To see two runners, running what they should be running, is wonderful.

The mercian 10,000 record is damn respectable.

Rupp looks to be 16th fastest all-time performer, 29th fastest performance.

Congrats to Galen! He was fantastic! Last year he seemed very disapointed by his race when Chris Solinsky broke the 27 min, but now he could be satisfied.

If he gets his 5000 into the same territory, he would be pretty high on the 5000/10,000 combo list.

amazing how quickly this topic went from No. 1 with a bullet to bottom of the charts!

Maybe because most were not able to see the race and the fact that Blake's performance overshadowed this. Nice run for Rupp. I expected this was possible from him. Hopefully there will be a lot more like this to come in the future.

Science DAMN this meet effing rocked!

Between this shit right here, and what happened in the 200, it's like almost too much of a track and field wet dream to handle lol.

Can't even imagine the level of performance Rupp and Solinsky might be able to push each other to over the course of the next 12 months as they train for London.

Imagine if they somehow go 1-2 in London!!! OMFS!!! That would be so utterly insane. And although it still probably isn't exactly LIKELY, at least now it's at least "POSSIBLE", or at least, a hell of a lot more plausible than it was a couple years ago.

Hurray for Brussels!!!! what a meet!!!!!!!!!
