That is a feel good story and I am glad it turned out well.
I frequently receive invitations to attend promotional dinners and lectures pushing travel,time shares and housing development projects. Since I have no intention of doing either/any, I seldom accept but have done a couple. In my experience, the free dinner is not worth the follow up sales harassment .

They were offering a 3 night stay at a resort in Cancun for just $297!

Typically these types of 'deals' end up costing $EVERAL hundred more in 'incidental expenses' that they gloss over in the initial offer. I hear nightmare stories about cruises all the time.

This looks like a sales pitch spam to me.

It is, and it's part of "be careful what you wish for" relative to the "problems with registration" thread. Turns out that easing the programming that creates that problem leads to increased penetration by spammers. Death to all spammers!

Better yet, everyone engaged in spamming should be subjected to thousands of unfiltered spam in their e-mail inbox every day, and every site they surf to should be filled with pop-up ads that can't be X-ed out (my 'favorite' is the one where clicking on the X sends you to another spam site).
