ADAM NELSON OUT OF PRE CLASSIC SHOT PUT
Eugene, Oregon--Adam Nelson, currently the No. 1 shot putter on the IAAF World Rankings list, has withdrawn from this Saturday's Prefontaine Classic Grand Prix due to a back injury. Replacing Nelson will be American collegian Christian Cantwell, who currently is the world's second-farthest thrower of the 2003 outdoor season, at 69-5 1/4 (21.16). The man with the farthest throws of the season, Kevin Toth (No. 2), is still entered in the Pre Classic shot, as are John Godina (No. 4), and Justin Anlezark (No. 7) of Australia.
