The 2003 Home Depot meet was the highlight of Jason Lunn's career. What a great race he had that day last year. To top it off he beat Krummenacker. If Lunn can somehow find 3:34 speed he will be a solid top twenty ranked international miler. He probably needs to shave off a few seconds of his 1500 meter time.

When did he tell you this?

          Re: Lunn at Home Depot

Actually, I recognized Lunn in line at a local Home Depot (ironic) and I said to him, "nice run at the Home Depot meet". He replied, "It was a great race for me". I think he was buying a Toro 6.5 hp lawnmower that day. When leaving the store I also bumped into Steve Scott who was buying grass seed.
Amazing in one trip to Home Depot I saw two world class milers.
Two weeks later I saw Gropher from the old Love Boat series at the same Home Depot buying a rake.

At least he didn't chop a toe off. Assuming this is a true story "great race" doesn't translate into "highlight of his career"

US milers should stay away from Lawnmowers!

                Re: Lunn at Home Depot

Last year's meet was great because the place was packed, mostly due to Guevara's appearance, I believe. She won't be there this year (and may not make the Mexico City meet on the same day, due to a slight injury). Hopefully the stands will still be full in both meets.

I think this meet will really show what Marion really has. If she doesn't do well at this meet, she can just forget it (can you say washed up without THG)!

Jones is competing this weekend in Jamaica. Unfortunately, I don't know of a website for the meet.

                        Re: Hype!

gotta get this back to the top. Too bad the Mexico meet is the same time. AJ's there instead of where he 'should' be. This meet will answer many fitness questions. Even tho it's only May, you've gotta be up on the step by now, or you've got a whole lotta scrambling to do. To get to the summit, you'd better have a high base camp.

Appears like a lot of your elites have that high base behind them -- a lot of xc performers, plus indoors. Will be interesting if the Santa Ana winds stay calm and the smog isn:t too toxic.

                            Re: Hype!

The weather will be fine, it's low 70's (22C) here now and will remain the same through the weekend. A bit windy but from the ocean not Santa Ana's and not that smogy. I'm going, anyone else? Thinking about doing a double; English pub in Santa Monica at 7am to watch the FA Cup Final (kind of like the Superbowl), brunch reservations already made for 11am at the HD Center, then the meet. Splendid!
