Last year's coverage was excellent. Nonstop internet coverage of all 4 days. Internet stream was very good as well. I look forward to this so much.

High School Track and Field at its finest.

Last year, it is reported that SportsMax's live Internet streaming had nearly five million page views and 53,319 total unique viewers from 127 countries, according to Google Analytics and LiveStream.com Analytics.

Re: Sportsmax to stream live coverage of Champs from Kingsto

There are always plenty of great performances at this meet. It's also a great meet for anyone who'll be attending the Penn Relays a few weeks later to check out, to get an idea of what to expect from the Jamaican schools and athletes and to get an idea of who to keep an eye on, and which relays and relay legs might be most interesting at Penn...

For anyone not familiar with the Jamaican scholastic championship meet, with the exception of a handful of events, athletes are divided into 3 or 4 separate classes based on age, so that younger athletes aren't competing against older athletes in most cases. So it's important to know which class of the event an athlete will be competing in if watching for that athlete... For example, for the girls last year, Edwin Allen star Ristananna Tracey won the Class 1 (17-19yrs) 400m race in 52.38 , Holmwood Tech standout Chris-Ann Gordon won the Class 2 (15-17yrs) 400m race in 51.62, and Vere Tech's Yanique McNeil won the Class 3 (13-15yrs) race with a 54.29 performance...

Just for reference, here's a link to the Jamaican Champs results from last year.

Really? It has good races (great ones) for distances that take less than a minute. However, the is a relatively small portion of a track meet. How about these events 800, 1500, 3000SC (or 2000SC hs), 5000, 10,000 (or 3000/5000], PV, HJ, LJ, TJ, HT, SP, Jav, DT, Deca/Hept? Also, how deep are the 110h/100h and 400h events?

the 100/200/400 are a good start, but they do not make the greatest track meet for the age group by themselves. I noted on the thread with the HJ kid that Jamaicans seem to be steadily branching out, but how branched out has it gotten?

Name me another HS track meet anymore in the world that can match the success of "champs" over the years. Every year, 35,000+ spectators jam pack the national stadium to watch the meet. This rivals the Penn Relays(again made of primarily Jamaicans and its supporters) in terms of track's biggests meet on this side of the world.

Mr. Negativity. I swear you are so jealous of us Jamaicans  You never have anything positive to say when it comes to anything Jamaican here. Glad you are in the minority here.

                              Don't watch the meet then.
