You'd probably hate it more if he ran and incurred a really serious injury.
True, I'm not denying that. My main gripe has to do with what notorious posted, safa's reply seemed like he didn't even care and now he has withdrawn. If he really is injured then lets see if he'll get proper rest and prepare himself for trials. Or if he'll do the typical asafa and run DL meetings after citing injury (Zurich).

I think what most people are getting at is that Powell is mentally fragile. If there was no Blake in the 200, he would likely have run it, and no injury would have even been mentioned. Powell has been making it a habit of saying he is totally fit and all of his injuries are in the past, only to cry injury when there is a tough match up for him. With all the new talent improving, and Gatlin back as well, Powell will either have to hang them up, or step his game up. If Gatlin is able to get back to his old form, Powell will be sitting out every week, or pulling up and not running through the tape every week. There won't be hardly any races for him where Bolt, Blake, Gay or Gatlin isn't in the race. lol
Powell did run the 200m last year at the meet (Bolt nor Blake was in the race). Asafa lead through about 120 meters and then the field came up and he slowed and jogged the rest of the race. WTF? If I was the meet promoter, I would want my money back. Pathetic athlete. No wonder why Nike dropped him.

Asafa showed up in Zurich because he wanted to get paid and he did. He won the overall 100m DL crown.

Exactly. If I was a meet organizer I would make Powell start signing a best effort clause, to have to get his appearance money. Nobody wants to see him repeatedly pull up and not run through the tape, because somebody ran up on him, or caught him. That really pisses me off as a fan. I wish they would start withholding is meet purses whenever he does that. Why are you paying somebody to half ass it?

GH this might be a genuine concern on your part but this is a fear tactic used by Asafa apologists over the seasons which has long run its course.

I will take my head out the sand and say he's too comfortable being a cash cow/sacrificial lamb/the boy crying wolf.
