The 7:56 is a conversion from Komen's 7:20 3000m WR to an estimated 2 miles value.

Four years outdated, however no 2-mile outdoor WR has been established since Komen:s two sub-8s.

Re: 2 mile wr
Only ever man to run sub-8:00 for 2 miles, was 9and still is) Daniel Komen in Hectel in 1997 with 7:58.61 (running back-to-back sub-4:00 miles, with 3:59.2 and 3:59.4)
3000m split: 7:27.3
Komen also achieved this performance again in 1998, running 7:58.91 (just missing the record by 0.30s) in Sydney on 28th of February!!!
(a world record in February, has there ever been a world record set earlier)
Along with his 7:20.67 3k record, those 2 records
seem to be two of the strongest in the book.
