Any reason Bledman didn't run the final?

If there were only 4 runners, was there any reason for heats at all?

I am not going to get too excited about Bledman's 9.89.

Let him duplicate or better that time on the DL circuit against some good competition and then, I will be a believer.

I now see that there were 10 runners, but they ran two heats in what they called the prelims and two heats in what they called the final. Everyone who ran the prelims qualified for the final. Sounds fishy to me.

Re: Golden South Classic Orlando FL 26 May

Bledman did run 10.12 (-1.9) at Ponce 2 weeks ago to win over Ashmeade and Kimmons so thats a 9.99 converted to 0.0. His time yesterday of 9.89 converts to a 9.94 so very believable and he is training partner of Ashmeade (and Gay for what thats worth). I suspect a little more wind than officially reported for Bledman's race but only slightly so the time is still a sub 10 mark and in line for Bledmon at this point in the season and what he has done last 2 years.

2 years ago in NY in B heat he ran 10.01 (1.4) so he has made steady progression but has just been inconsistent but could be a breakthrough talent and give Trinidad an upset possibility in the 4x1 in London.

5 different guys under 9.9 wind-legal and one just barely windy and we're not out of May yet. That's before you factor in Tyson Gay too.

I love Olympic year (just not the Olympics  ).

Well...this is Florida...so maybe we decided, since there are only 9 lanes, to qualify the 9 slowest instead of the 9 fastest.
