  • Track Coaches and Proms Don't Mix

It MAY have been innocent, but still a major lack in judgement by an adult.

"The daughter-in-law of Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, who has served as a volunteer high school track and field coach in Oregon, was fired on Monday after an investigation proved that she escorted a 17-year-old member of her boys track squad to the school's prom".

You have a gift for understatement. There's NO way that could have turned out OK.

I read that a few days ago and found it incredibly stupid on the part of the coach. What could she possibly be thinking? If she felt that bad for the kid, find an unoccupied girl to go with him.

Also...can you be fired from a volunteer position?
