  • the best bargain in big-meet history?

How about tonite's first session of the Pre: "international" mile with guys the caliber of Centrowitz, Kenyan men's OT 10,000, women's 10K with Dibaba, 2 Diamond League field events. All for the bargain price of..... FREEEEE!

If that ain't one of the best loss-leaders you've ever seen. (disclaimer: I am the meet announcer, but his is me wearing my fan hat here, not meet pimp)

I went on the Pre-website.The most expensive tickets are only $38 compared to $250 and $75 (plus about $20 for parking) respectively for the Addidas meet in NY.

They just know how to financially squeeze the mostly Jamaican crowd in New York.

Yes, the sole purpose of the meet is to gouge the Jamaican fans. It has nothing to do with anything else, say the cost of hosting a meet in NYC as opposed to Eugene.

Brilliant insight there. any theories as to who is behind this conspiracy as well? I heard it was the same group that decided to gouge the Italian fans in Rome and the Arab fans in Doha and the Korean fans in Seoul. What's next will the people going to England to watch that competition be gouged as well. Have you seen the seperate pticket ricing list for Jamaican spectators?

                  First post, hello all.
Bislett isn't a bargain, $250 for two. Ouch. Hope it will be worth it.

Take the Jamaicans out of NYC and they probably wouldn't draw 5000 people in a metro area of roughly 20 million so they'd have to either dramatically drop ticket prices or that would be the end of the meet. Confounds me that people will pay $75 for lousy Knicks tix against a mediocre opponent, get excited about watching T&F in the Olympics, yet not want to bother with what's always been a good meet.

As of a few minutes ago you could get a 50 buck seat 10 yards past the finish, 13 rows up( VIP section is on and past the line by 8 yards and 7 to 9 rows up). That is section 200. I don't think they even had the backstraight tix open till this week- sluggish sales?

edit just checked looks like the backtraight will be general admission unlike other years when it was assigned searing up to 306 ot so-I think the concert set- up might have someting to do with the back straight($40) costing more than the 35 buck sections near the PV& 100 start.
