She did not qualify for the final three jumps, but here 6.48/-2.6 was really better than all but two on the first three jumps. [a 6.48/-2.6 is better than a 6.59/+2.2; ~5mps is worth more than 11 cm.

I beg to differ....

Anguilla is a British colony, and IMHO she's as much a Brit as any Falkland Islander. I'm of the view that anyone who lives in a British colony should be allowed to travel in and out of Britain just like any British citizen, and should have the same rights and benefits.

It's either that, or give these overseas territories their independence....

I don't like agreeing wih the Daily Mail, but I think you are correct. I don't want to go down the "Plastic Brit" road, but for these athletes being British is a convenience. The same for Bingham and Mason. Proctor's case is different in that Anguilla isn't an IOC member, correct?

It's ironic that GB's last world-class female LJer didn't want to be British.
