The womens 100m is pretty much dominated by Carmelita Jeter so As hard as it is to say it, she is the clear favorite to win the w100m at the olympics. And plus with the way allyson felix has been running lately the w200m gold may be hers also.Either way I wish VCB the best and hopes she shows put at the Olympics.
You remind me of another poster from a music board I'm apart of, he often makes ridiculous statements. Uncanny similarities

    I think you mean 8.
Sorry you are correct, I meant 8 not 12.
I was thinking it as the Olympics is every 4 years and she won 3 olympics. So i just multiplied. :P

It is 12 years. Veronica won a silver medal in the 2000 Olympics as a part of Jamaica's 4 x 100m team.
However admirable an achievement, winning a silver medal in a relay cannot sensibly be described as 'Olympic dominance'.
It was the beginning of her dominance

She will be the second in the list of Olympic medals, after Merlene Ottey.
Of course she will become a legend.
And when you consider the fact that she had three gold, it is much better than that of MO.
VCB already has four global titles and two more would briong her total to six. How many global titles did the Bronze Queen win?
Merlene I believe only has 2 titles(two WC 200m titles in 1993 and 1995 respectively)
Which is why longevity and dominance is more important.
Obviously Ottey has the longevity the fast times, as well as a good amount of consistency at championships.

She is already a legend. She however won't win the sprint double in London. She might not get any gold at all.

In fact, for once I agree with Trackdaddy in that if Veronica doubles(as expected), she will lose the 200m especially if Felix only runs the 200m.

It would cement her status as the greatest sprinter of her generation (sorry TD and NSO) one of the top five greatest of all times.

I would have no problem putting her on an all-time best list, but that doesn't automatically denote "legend".
I wouldn't say times are really relevant in her case. The 21.74 helps but she hasn't really run "fast" that many times. He shared/complete dominance and longevity is more important. With a win in London, your talking 12 years of Olympic dominance. (And shared WC dominance in between)
