The excellent Canadian magazine Sportsnet recently had an article about good-looking athletes. Their point was that spectators relate not only to a particular sport or club but to certain athletes and that the business of sport exploits the marketability of the athlete's appearance.
The article goes on to list about 30 athletes, all of them famous and successful: Soccer stars David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis players Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal, skier Lindsey Vonn, etc.
There are no less than 7 track athletes on the list and you may want to try to guess them. Hints:
-They are all famous (e.g. not the javelin thrower from Paraguay)
-Five of the seven are still active: 4 women (2 from the US and 2 from Europe) and 1 man (from neither the US or Europe)
-One is retired (a man from neither the US nor Europe)
-One is deceased (a woman from the US)
