Forecast is hot! Duncan will run another world lead. Not sure she will break the record because who will press her?

The forecast is also for a headwind, so good luck on the fast time.

Possibly, but it definitely seems impossible for her to not make the London team right now.
I'm honestly kind of nervous thinking what she could do in the final on Saturday.

I'm just thinking it might just be "too fast"!

22.76 would have qualified for last year's World Championship Final. Obviously, the conditions weren't optimal, but still!

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but were TWO Collegiate Class Records broken in these prelims??

I had the Frosh record as 22.83 from 1986.
(Can't recall the name right now!!)
                        Octavius Freeman ran 22.74.

And I had Merlene Ottey as the Junior Class record holder, with her 22.24 from 1982.
                        Kimberley Duncan ran 22.19!!

TWO Class Records in the prelims??!!
                        WHEW!!!

that is the key (carrying the form especially after so many races this week). plus the event will be very competitive at the trials, if felix (doesnt enter the 400 and focuses on the deuce), jeter (decides to double back from the 100), solomon, knight and tarmoh come to the form they were in at last year's usatf. along with the women's 100 h it might be the most competitive event at the usot.

I don't know that- lacking experience- she can turn around after ncaas and beat Felix at trials, but she's sure to help push the field to some impressive times. Especially if Sanya runs the deuce. This could be interesting.

Before the summer's over Ms Duncan could run 21 and change.

The wind Gods were unkind to Duncan this weekend. She went to Des Moines with 22.04 on her mind, and the temperature was good all four days, but the wind was uncondusive to to record breaking on Friday and Saturday when ESPN dictated the direction they would run. Even if ESPN had allowed them to run with the wind, the time would have had the dreaded "w" attached to it. Had Thursday's semifinal had been the final, Duncan would have run through the line, rather than coast the last 30 meters and there's no doubt in my mind that she would have become the first sub-22 runner in collegiate history. It reminds me of what happened to Mike Marsh at the 1992 Olympics when he coasted for the last 30 meters to a wind-legal 19.72 in the semifinal only to face a stiff head-wind in the final.
