I doubt the EAA know that.

As a rule of thumb, I think any athlete who doesn't have to run any rounds in Helsinki and field eventers will all be in the British team in terms of the top names.

        Re: Europeans/Olympics

I'm getting so angry about all of this...it really is making a complete mockery of everything!

Now you have Jenny Meadows pulling out of this weekend's trials and saying she will prove her fitness at the Europeans- so even if she is going to be named in the Olympic team, she'll need to go there to prove her fitness to selectors, though, say, Marilyn Okoro (who is clearly in much better physical shape to deal with 3 rounds at this stage than Meadows) will (presuming she finishes top 2 this weekend) be removed from contention for the team?

        WHAT A MESS!

I'm pretty sure MO will run the 400m, she's gunning for 4x4 and we''ll probably need her

Yeah, but that's still another example of why it's ridiculous...that she can go and run (potentially) three rounds of the 400m but not her own specialist event...

              Re: Europeans/Olympics

I regard Meadows comments about proving her fitness at the Europeans as not justification for not appearing this w/e.
But sadly I do not subscribe to the JM appreciation society. She will dine out I am sure on her Bronze in 2009, but she is not the same athlete, after her failure last year in Daegu to even make the final.
It will be more than a surprise if she performs to high standard in a reasonable race in
Helsinki after having not raced so far this year.

Has anyone found start lists for the first day yet? With only two days to go it would be nice to know who will actually be there.
