    Re: Eyewitless News

I have known Clyde for about a hundred years and while always cordial, his is not an effusive personality... unless expressing displeasure about something.
More than once this spring in private conversation he told me he was confident Wariner would be in top three at the Trials.

I've become a bit of a Wariner doubter as of late, probably because I have such high expectations of him, so I really hope Coach Hart is right. I'd like to see Jeremy in the top 3 w/ a good, solid performance. OT's and London are the only races that matter, so all my doubts can be erased in about 45 seconds. Enjoy.

    Eyewitless News

Here's a thread for us who are in Eugene, about what we see and hear. Me first!

So the Mrs. and I are getting off the plane (2nd leg from Dallas) in Portland today at noon and who should be standing behind us but Mr. Clyde Hart. I would not have recognized him except he's all decked out in Baylor togs. So I turn to him and ask, "How's Jeremy Wariner gonna do?"
He looks a little nonplussed but very cordially responds by saying that the training's been going great, and he was going to do very well. I say, "Good luck,"; he smiles and thanks me . . . very cool guy (I had met him several years ago at a clinic, but there's no way he could've remembered me. That's OK - I remember him).
Working...
