  • Jesse Williams article

Article about Jesse Williams In the Charlotte Observer this morning.

"Earlier this month Jesse, 28, a former Raleigh Broughton athlete and three-time 4A state high jump champion, tied his personal best indoor record at the 2012 adidas Grand Prix meet by jumping 7 feet, 8 3/4 inches.

"Williams began setting records during his days at Broughton. After graduating from high school, he attended N.C. State for one year before transferring to the University of Southern California, where he won two NCAA national championships.

"But it’s always been about the Olympics."

Does anyone know if Jesse is already based in the UK training for the Olympics? I could have sworn I saw him running through my local town centre last week! I live about 20 miles north of London in a place called Watford. I know its a totally random thing to put on here, but if it wasn't him then he's got a double living in Britain.

Doubtful since the US trials qualifying round is this Saturday. Do they have a track in Watford these days? I used to train at Uxbridge when it was horrible quality cinders.

I saw Kynard jump on TV for the first time last week. Fairly sure I've never seen anyone land like that before; pretty much a lay out into back somersault technique, very unusual looking.

Yes, Watford's Woodside track regularly holds BMC meets.
It was actually nowhere near the track that I saw this guy who was in his kit running and I just thought, "he's the spitting image of Jesse Williams" lol
